Fete de la Musique 2005

Fete de la Musique -- June 18, 2005, El Pueblo Complex in Ortigas Center, Pasig.
Imagine over 120 bands taking on eight different stages, all in one night. That’s the 2005 Fete de la Musique, an annual celebration of music that brings people of all walks of life together.
Brownbeat All-Stars, Kapatid, Cynthia Alexander, Kitchie Nadal, Mishka Adams & The Blue Echoes, Drip, The Jerks, Pinikpikan and Sun Valley Crew are just some of the 120 bands lighting up El Pueblo and The Podium in Ortigas Center on June 18. Beginning at 4:00 p.m., eight different genres (rock, alternative, r&b and hip-hop, jazz, blues, reggae, ska, electronica) will play simultaneously until 4:00 a.m. the next day. Admission is free.
Originally a musical festival in France, the Fete de la Musique was first held in Manila in 1999 on the streets of Malate, starting with only five bands. Over the years, it has celebrated the art of music in The Fort, El Pueblo, and Eastwood, and has since given more than 300 bands a venue to unleash their talent. A total of 20,000 people witnessed last year’s Fete de la Musique.
