Bolinao, Pangasinan Part III

Cape Bolinao Lighthouse in Baranggay Patar is the second tallest lighthouse in the Philippines (second to Cape Bojeador Lighthouse in Ilocos Norte). It keeps its light burning 365 days a year to warn and guide sea vessels away from the offshore reefs and huge rocks since this area is an international ocean passage to Hongkong, Japan, USA and other countries.

These are some of the wildlife taken during the Bolinao trip. We visited two waterfalls and I remember mustering total stillness and concentration to take a picture of the dragonfly. My legs were numb after crouching near the edge of the river just so I could get a shot of the insect with its bright, bright red orange color. The Empire Butterfly, on the other hand, was taken while hiking up to Cape Bolinao.
